Chinook Pheasants Forever is pleased to announce another exciting grant received from the Alberta Conservation Association! This CC&E Grant (Conservation, Community, and Education) will provide us with the funds to purchase and plant an additional 1,500 shrubs to bolster the existing multi-row shelterbelt at the Sauder Reservoir Habitat Project.
The Sauder Reservoir Habitat Project is 158 acres of land and is part of the Connectivity Project managed by ACA on SMRID lands. We have already planted 10,000 shrubs on this land in previous years and will continue to develop and maintain this important piece of habitat.
This grant will also be used to water the shelterbelt throughout the summer to ensure the successful growth of the planted shrubs, which will soon provide important shelter and food for the wildlife in the area.
