Projects Summary

Chinook Pheasants Forever has formed strong partnerships with several habitat groups over the last sixteen years and through these relationships many thousands of acres in Southern Alberta have been secured.

Here is a summary of the different projects Chinook PF has contributed to:

Project Peigan Creek 2004

947 acres, $15,000 donated to benefit Sharptails, Pheasants, and Huns

Project East Hays 2008

144 acres, $25,000 donated to benefit Pheasants and Huns

Project Silver Sage I 2010

320 acres, $5,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Silver Sage II 2011

1280 acres, $10,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Ross Creek 2012

939 acres, $100,000 donated to benefit Pheasants, Huns, and Sharptails

Project Bull Trail 2013

529 acres, $10,000 donated to benefit Sharptails and Huns

Project Silver Sage III 2014

320 acres, $11,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Escape Coulee 2014

800 acres, $10,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Silver Sage IV 2014

160 acres, $7,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Silver Sage V 2015

320 acres, $10,000 donated to benefit Sage Grouse and Sharptails

Project Ross Creek 2017

160 acres, $10,000 donated to benefit Pheasants, Huns and Sharptails

Project Chinook 2018

464 acres, $200,000 donated to benefit Pheasants, Huns and Sharptails

Chinook Pheasants Forever has contributed $413,000 to secure 6400 acres. These lands are open year round for the public for recreation, it is foot access only.

Chinook Pheasants Forever also contributed $10,000 to the Sage Grouse Translocation Program of 2011. This is a partnership between the province of Alberta and the state of Montana where 40 Sage Grouse were captured in Montana and released in Southeastern Alberta to supplement our endangered Sage Grouse population.
