This summer, the fencing at Chinook was changed to be wildlife friendly. The work was coordinated by AFGA with help from ACA, MHF&GA, and the Chinook chapter of Pheasants Forever. The project was completed from August 12th through to August 15th.
The benefits of this project
The wildlife friendly fencing installed at the Chinook property will benefit deer and antelope. The lower wire was replaced with smooth wire and raised to 18 inches above ground level allowing the deer and antelope, especially the antelope, to crawl under the smooth wire. Barbed wire removes the animals back hair causing mortality due to infection and frost bite in the winter.
